Chryspoprase - palm Stone
Science & Origin of Chrysoprase
Chrysoprase, also known as Australian Jade, is a green variety of Chalcedony that contains minor traces of Nickel. Its structure is cryptocrystalline, which basically means Chrysoprase is made up of a large number of tiny crystals too small for the human eye to even see! This crystal was first found in 1844 by J.D. Dana. He named it after the Greek words meaning “gold” and “green”. In ancient times, Chrysoprase was often referred to as “the Stone of Venus”. It was commonly worn as jewelry or used as a carving and sculpting material due to its raw beauty. A common tale is that Chrysoprase was even Alexander the Great’s favorite gemstone!
Chrysoprase can be found all around the world and in countries such as Madagascar, Tanzania, India, Russia, Brazil, USA, Poland, and Australia. The highest quality stones currently on the market are coming out of mines in Queensland Australia (hence the “Australian Jade” nickname!). The largest amount of Chrysoprase ever found was located at a mine in Szklary, Poland. The source quickly became completed and by the 14th century, the world was on the hunt for Chrysoprase once more.
Meaning & Energy
Chrysoprase is a stone of the heart that is here to fill one's aura with strong healing energies. This stone will help activate and open one's heart chakra, making it easier to get in touch with your emotional body. By being better in touch with yourself, one will soon realize the inner strength in they possess. Chrysoprase urges us to channel the newly found strength directly into our heart space, attempting to cleanse and rid all negative energy.
This special crystal also helps one activate and unlock their solar plexus chakra. This chakra is the source of our personal will, and with that anything can become possible. Our personal will is the driving force behind all that we do out of love. This unquenchable desire pushes us into action while providing laser-sharp focus, increased stamina, strength, determination, and awareness. What makes Chrysoprase such a powerful stone is the ability to provide a connection between our solar plexus chakra and our heart space. With this connection, we are able to easily access and use the above traits with intentions that come from the heart, not just our will. This will provide one the strength to truly focus on doing what their heart desires. Making one's heart feel complete is the true meaning of happiness and serenity, and Chrysoprase is a power crystal that will help get you there.
Nature and Chrysoprase have a very strong connection, and we urge you to meditate with a piece outside. We recommend it during the time of dawn or dusk when Mother Earth is at her most energetic. By tapping into and attuning to the rays of nature, one may soon feel a more compassionate and aware side come out of them. This is due in part to the amount of life force energy one is receiving when they are attuned to nature's frequencies. This energy is coming out of all life surrounding you. Working with Mother Nature’s energies can teach us so many lessons not only about ourselves but also about the planet we inhabit as well.
